The Giro d'Italia takes a day off on Tuesday as American and Colorado native Taylor Phinney maintains his spot in the top of the standings. Phinney is in first with a 9:24:31 time despite a nasty crash that put his race in jeopardy. According to the 21-year-old, quitting was not an option:
"Withdrawing from the race? It never crossed my mind, I'm hopeful and want to continue the Giro."
