The 2012 Giro d'Italia has finished its time in Denmark with the conclusion of Stage 3 in Horsens, a 190 kilometer route. Matthew Harley Goss captured the victory on Monday after placing second in Sunday's Stage 2 ride through Herning. He completed the race at 4:20:53 while Garmin-Barracuda's Tyler Farrar finished in third place.
However, this stage was not without incident. During a sprint to the finish, there was a large crash that involved Mark Cavendish, Sunday's Stage 2 victory, and Taylor Phinney, Stage 1 winner and holder of the Maglia Rosa for all three stages so far. The status for each rider is unknown right now, but Phinney did complete the race after he received treatment on his ankle.
