The 2012 Giro d'Italia is underway and Team Garmin-Barracuda has had a strong start in the early going. Ramunas Navardauskas currently holds the fastest finish on Stage 1 of the race. Navardauskas finished the 8.7 kilometer individual time trial with a time of 10:48:

Among Navardauskas' teammates, Ryder Hesjedal, who entered as the team's favorite to win the race, is currently on the course and has just passed the midway point. He was tied for the 14th best time at the halfway mark.
Stage 1 of the Giro d'Italia is taking place in Herning, Denmark and will be followed by two more stages there before a rest day on Tuesday and a trip to Italy for a Wednesday start.
