The Oklahoma St. Cowboys have added what may be the football team's quarterback of the future. According to CBS Sports, QB Luke Del Rio (@Ldelrio12) has given a verbal commitment to the OSU football program. The Valor Christian student and Colorado native still has to wait until February before he can officially sign with the Cowboys, but he has already received confirmation of a scholarship from the university.
In his 2011 high school season, Del Rio passed for 253 yards per game, leading his league in passing and ranking second overall in the state. He also managed 20 touchdown passes over just 10 games.
Oklahoma State finished the 2011 NCAA season with a 12-1 record, winning the 2011 Fiesta Bowl 41-38 against the Stanford Cardinal. The team's top pass-caller, QB Brandon Weedon, was then drafted by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 22 pick in the first round of the NFL Draft.
