Poised for another strong, Colorado St. Rams graduate Martin Laird bogeyed twice -- on the No. 16 and 18 holes -- and double bogeyed -- on the No. 17 hole -- to fall to 6-under and second place and an incredible eight-way tie. Laird finished the first round in 32 strokes before his 39-stroke second round.
Meanwhile, American Zach Johnson jumped from 27th place to 1st on the merit of eight birdies, including this two-stroke birdie on the No. 13 hole:
Johnson bogeyed twice -- on the No. 7 and 19 holes -- but managed to avoid the second place crowd. Eight players are currently locked at 138 strokes: Charlie Wi, Martin Laird, Jonathan Byrd, Adam Scott, Brian Davis, Harris English, Michael Thompson and Kevin Na.
Tiger Woods, meanwhile, remains tied for 91st place with a 2-over after shooting par on his first hole of the day.
