The first game of the 2012 women's college basketball Final Four did not disappoint, as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Connecticut Huskies battled all the way into overtime before the Irish eventually pulled away for an 83-75 victory.
UConn rallied with a late 8-2 run to tie the score at 67 heading into overtime, and the Huskies got off to a good start in the extra period before Notre Dame ran away with the game.
The Huskies went up 70-67 on Bria Hartley’s 3-pointer to open the first overtime at the women’s Final Four since 2006, but [Brittany] Mallory hit back-to-back 3s and Notre Dame closed with a 16-5 run.
