Lucas Giolito, one of the top 2012 MLB Draft prospects, is likely out for the season following a sprained UCL. Giolito's injury will likely miss the remainder of the high school season as a result, his coach said (via Baseball America).
↵Giolito was ranked by Baseball America as the No. 2 prospect in the upcoming draft in its preseason list. There is no word yet on if he will need surgery, but this injury will likely drop him down. He probably wasn't going going to fall as far down as No. 10, where the Colorado Rockies pick, before this injury. He is expected to have a full recovery, but the UCLA Bruins will certainly be waiting for him should he not be selected where he expects to be.
