Jaden Schwartz To Leave Colorado College, Sign With St. Louis Blues

The Colorado College Tigers' 2011-2012 hockey season came to an end over the weekend with a series loss to the Michigan Tech Huskies and dismissal from the 2012 WCHA Playoffs as a result. This will now trigger the departure of sophomore forward Jaden Schwartz to the St. Louis Blues, reports Brian Gomez of the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Schwartz tallied 15 goals as a sophomore and recorded a team-best 41 points. He edged out his brother, junior Rylan Schwartz, for the team lead in points by one. Rylan finished the season with a team-best 23 goals.

The 14th overall pick by the Blues in 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Jaden Schwartz will finish his career with 32 goals and 88 points. Rylan might leave school as a junior, as Gomez reports that the Blues have shown interest in the elder brother. Rylan was not drafted by an NHL team and can sign with any team should he elect to leave the CC program.
