The Colorado School of Mines Orediggers (27-2) enter Saturday's game against the Augustana (S.D.) Vikings in a strong position. Not only are the Orediggers the top-seeded team in the Central Region portion of the 2012 NCAA Division II Tournament, they are also the No. 1 team in the Coaches Poll (for the first time ever) and winners of the RMAC regular season and tournament titles.
The Orediggers are led by RMAC Player of the Year Brett Green and his 15.6 points per game. Dale Minschwaner isn't far behind Green, as he averages 13.5 points and bangs around the boards for 7.1 rebounds over 29 games. The team also features Trevor Wages (9.2 rebounds per game) and RMAC Freshman of the Year Trevor Ritchie (11.4 points).
The average margin of victory for the Orediggers this season has been 15.8 points, as the team averages 76.9 per game and allows just 61.1.
Augustana features Cody Schilling, the team's leading scorer at 17.1 points in 27 games. Cameron McCaffrey (14.1 points) and Drae McMurray (13.7) complete the Vikings' trio of double-digit scorers.
The winner of this games goes on to play the victor between No. 4 Southwest Minnesota State and No. 5 Minnesota State Moorhead.
