The Colorado Avalanche built on the 1-0 lead over Columbus they brought into the second period with a goal by Gabriel Landeskog at the 11:36-mark. Steve Downie -- a recent acquisition from the Tampa Bay Lightning -- and Ryan O'Reilly assisted on the goal, which was Landeskog's 16th of the season.

Columbus still leads in shots on goal overall, 17-14, but the Avalanche had a 9-8 edge in the second. Both teams had a couple of power play opportunities but were unable to convert.
A win for the Avs would be their second in a row, and would give them 66 points on the season.
