Avalanche Vs. Kings Score Update: Colorado Leads 3-0 After One

The Colorado Avalanche are trying to hand the Los Angeles Kings their fourth consecutive loss tonight, and after one period, the Avs are off to a good start. Colorado leads the Kings 3-0 at the Pepsi Center during an opening frame that featured plenty of action at both ends.

Colorado got on the scoreboard seven minutes into the game when Mark Olver beat Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick. Olver's second goal of the season was set up by David Jones and Daniel Winnik. Paul Stastny made it 2-0 with his 15th goal of the season later in the period. With under 3:00 left, Jay McClement scored his eighth goal of the year off assists from Ryan O'Reilly and Chuck Kobasew.

Colorado out-shot the Kings 11-10 in the period. The Kings hold a 9-6 advantage in faceoffs, while hits are tied at seven.
