National Signing Day, Northern Colorado: Leilon Willingham Headlines 27 Signees

UNC brought in a 27-man class in 2012.

The University of Northern Colorado announced its 2012 football recruiting class on Wednesday afternoon, led by linebacker Leilon Willingham, who is transferring into the program after one season at Central Florida. Willingham was rated a four-star recruit out of high school by Rivals.com and played in 10 games as a true freshman for the Knights in 2011, recording 19 tackles and one interception.

UNC head coach Earnest Collins Jr. is happy with this class and happy with the direction of his program overall:

"The thing I like most about this class," Collins said, "is that we had to fill some holes and we did. And, like I told the kids last year: 'There will be no more playing by default. When you're on the field next year it's because you earned it in practice. It's not because we don't have anyone else to put in that spot. It's because you earned it.' That can't be stressed enough."

The Bears finished 0-11 in 2011.
