Kevin Gausman's LSU Tigers Projected As Regional Host In Preseason NCAA Tournament Bracket

Baseball America has released its preseason NCAA Baseball Tournament Field of 64 projection on Wednesday. As expected, the two major Division I programs in Colorado, Air Force and Northern Colorado, do not make the cut. Air Force could make it if it wins the Mountain West tournament, but that's considered a long stretch. Northern Colorado would need to have a near perfect record to even be considered for an at-large bid to the tournament, and that's far from a possibility.


But Denver native Kevin Gausman's LSU Tigers are projected to be a No. 1 seed in the regional they could host in Baton Rouge, La. Florida State, Southern Miss and Alcorn State make that regional. However, LSU is not projected to receive one of the eight national seeds.
