Former Colorado Buffaloes and Denver Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups suffered a season-ending injury to his Achilles last week and will miss the remainder of the Los Angeles Clippers' 2012 NBA season. He will have surgery on Wednesday in Colorado, according to coach Vinny Del Negro.
Billups' last year has been filled with disappointments. From being part of the Carmelo Anthony trade to the New York Knicks to being released by the team shortly before the start of the season in order to make room for Tyson Chandler, Billups was jerked around for months.
Landing with the Los Angeles Clippers allowed Billups to play with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. It was working out all so well with the Clippers atop the Western Conference before this injury. Billups will be 36 next season and plans to come back for it.
