Denver had no answer for Rudy Gay down the stretch, as Memphis pulled away for a 81-72 victory over the visiting Nuggets. Denver was playing on the second night of back-to-back games, and saw a tie ballgame become a 78-68 lead after Gay entered the game with just under five minutes to play.

Gay had 19 points total in the contest for the Grizzlies. Zach Randolph chipped in 12 points for Memphis, which outscored the Nuggets 28-15 in the fourth quarter.

JaVale McGee, Corey Brewer and Andre Iguodala all scored 12 points apiece for Denver, with Kenneth Faried adding 11 points for the Nuggets. Danilo Gallinari, who scored a career-high 39 points on Friday night, mustered just seven points against Memphis on two of eight shooting from the floor.

The loss ended a modest two-game winning streak for the Nuggets, and was just the third time this season in which Denver has lost when holding an opponent under 100 points (13-3). The Nuggets have won 14 of the last 20 games between the two teams.
