The Mountain West Conference season has come to a close, and Air Force and Colorado State finished in the middle of the pack. The Falcons and Rams placed fourth and seventh, respectively, in the final standings.

The Falcons (6-6, 5-3 MWC) finished the regular season with a better overall record in 2011, 7-5, but the 5-3 conference mark in 2012 bested the 3-4 record from a season ago. Air Force finished fifth in the standings last season and went on to lose to Toledo, 42-41, in the Military Bowl. This season, Air Force will play Rice in the Armed Services Bowl.

After a 1-6 start to the season, the Rams (4-8, 3-5) rallied to win three of their final five games. Last season, Colorado State was 3-9 overall and 1-6 in Mountain West play.

Boise State (10-2, 7-1), Fresno State (9-3, 7-1) and San Diego State (9-3, 7-1) finished in a three-way tie atop the conference.
