The Colorado State Rams face the Virginia Tech Hokies in the Las Vegas Classic at Orleans Arena on Sunday night.
The Rams (9-2) took care of business against the Portland Pilots on Saturday night, cruising to a 70-53 victory behind Pierce Hornung's 24 points and 11 rebounds. In the game before that, the Hokies (9-2) snuck past the Bradley Braves in overtime, 66-65. Virginia Tech guard Erick Green, who leads the nation in scoring, had 31 points and eight rebounds in the winning effort.
Casey Iverson was held to nine points and five rebounds against Portland, but is the Rams' leading scorer and second-leading rebounder, averaging 14.3 points and 9.3 boards per game. Jarell Eddie is another player to watch for Virginia Tech. He is the team's second-leading scorer with 15.1 points per game, and leads the Hokies in rebounding with seven per contest.
Colorado State and Virginia Tech are slated for a 9:30 p.m. MT tip-off. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
