NFL odds Week 10: Broncos vs. Panthers

The Denver Broncos look to round out the soft part of their schedule with a decisive victory. After games against Atlanta, Houston, Pittsburgh, and New England in the first five weeks of the season, the Broncos are coming off defeats of New Orleans and Cincinnati. Another sub-.500 team is up this week in Carolina, where Denver is favored by four points.

But the 2-6 Panthers' record belies their performance on the season. Five of Carolina's six losses have come by one score of fewer, and their point differential on the year is a respectable -31. Compare that to the 3-6 Tennesse Titans, who have a whopping -126 point differential and you can see that the Panthers aren't as incompetent as their record indicates.

In games they were underdogs by 3 points or more, the Panthers have covered. As such, the Broncos have covered the spread in every game in which they were favored, with three of those four covers beings spreads of five or more. The Broncos offense has seemingly coalesced with Peyton Manning as the hottest quarterback in football, throwing three touchdowns in each of the Broncos' last five games. With just six interceptions thrown on the year, Manning will make the Panthers earn their points with Cam Newton under center.
