San Diego State vs. Boise State score update: Broncos trailing 7-6 after 1st quarter

No. 19 Boise State trails San Diego State, 7-6, on Saturday night at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho.

The Aztecs immediately jumped out to a 7-0 lead when Colin Lockett returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown just 13 seconds into the game. Boise State would respond with a 68-yard drive on the following possession that was capped by a D.J. Harper one-yard run for a touchdown. The Broncos two-point conversion attempt would fail.

The teams would then trade off stalled drives, with Boise State going three-and-out on the only other possession of the game. San Diego State was not able to enjoy much better offensive success, yet were driving deep inside Broncos territory as time expired in the quarter.

Broncos quarterback Joe Southwick was 5-of-7 for 38 yards in the quarter, while Harper added 13 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Both Boise State and San Diego State have gained 52 yards of offense so far in the game.
