2012 BCS rankings, Week 14: Notre Dame, Alabama remain at Nos. 1 and 2; Kent State creeping up on at-large bid

Notre Dame and Alabama are the top two teams once again, but the MAC's Kent State are poised to move into the top 16 and take an at-large bid.

The top of the BCS rankings remain the same as they appeared last week with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Alabama Crimson Tide in the top two spots. Notre Dame (12-0) is assured of a spot in the BCS national championship game since its regular season is over. Alabama, though, must beat the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC title game on Saturday to secure that spot. It not, Georgia will take that spot. Either way, for the seventh year in a row the SEC will play for a national title (and look for a seventh straight national title).

Boise State's chances at reaching the top 16 to gain an at-large bid took a hit by moving up just two spots to No. 20 this week. The 11-1 Kent St. Golden Flashes, out of the MAC, rose from No. 23 to No. 17 and have the conference title game against No. 21 Northern Illinois, also 11-1, to play on Friday. A win will most likely lead to some hot MACtion in a BCS game.
