Derek Carr and the Fresno State Bulldogs (9-3, 7-1 MWC) clinched a share of the Mountain West Conference championship on Saturday with a 48-15 thrashing of Air Force. In the celebration after the victory, the team got even more good news: Carr will stick around for his senior year. Via the athletic department's official Twitter feed:

The junior quarterback, younger brother of former Fresno State star and 2002 No. 1 draft pick David Carr, completed 28 of 32 passes against Air Force for 452 yards and four touchdowns. For the year, Carr has thrown for 3,742 yards and 36 touchdowns, with just five interceptions.
The quarterback made the announcement shortly after the game, while donning a championship hat and clutching the MWC championship trophy. It is Fresno State's first conference title in 13 seasons. The Bulldogs last won a conference title in 1999, when they shared the WAC title with TCU and Hawaii.
