The Northern Colorado Bears stand in search of their second win on the young college basketball season, as they host the Wyoming Cowboys Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. MT in Greeley.
The Bears (1-1) have played only two games, a blowout victory over Division III Southwestern, and a 64-53 road loss to Cal Poly. Stats are skewed given that UNC put up 127 points on a Division III squad, but 11 players are averaging at least 5.0 points per game for Northern Colorado. Forward Tim Huskisson leads the team with 12.5 points per game, followed by center Connor Osborne at 11.5. Guards Paul Garnica and Tevin Svihovec both average double-digits, as well. However, Svihovec was the only player to reach double-digits against Cal Poly, scoring 14.
Wyoming is undefeated, having won the Global Sports Hoops Showcase and netting wins against South Dakota and Southern along the way. The trip to Greeley will be the Cowboys' first game outside of Laramie, Wyo. Leonard Washington leads the Cowboys with 16.8 points per game, while Luke Martinez adds 14.5 and Derrious Gilmore 10.8.
After this contest, Norhtern Colorado plays four consecutive games on the road, starting with a Nov. 26 tipoff at Colorado State.
