With a decisive win and cover over the Saints, the Broncos are 3-1 in the last four week against the spread and in the standings. Peyton Manning shined on offense, and has quieted the doubters about his potential for decline. There's no denying the offense has come on of late, averaging more than 30 points in that four-game stretch.
The Bengals, on the other hand, are coming off a much-needed bye, having lost two consecutive division games - the former to the lowly Browns. Cincinnati last covered a spread in Week 4, when they "upset" the Jaguars in a game they were 1.5-point underdogs. Over their three-game losing streak, the Bengals have averaged just 17 points, and that surely won't be enough against the red-hot Broncos.
With a high-octane offense duking it out with one that has struggled to score, the total of 47 for this game seems spot on. Any offensive surge by the Bengals would make the over attractive, but second-year QB Andy Dalton and the NFL's 23rd-ranked rushing don't exactly inspire confidence.
