After being officially eliminated from the playoffs earlier this week, the Colorado Rapids look to play spoiler when they host the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday night. The Earthquakes are currently in first place in the Western Conference and are trying to hold off Eastern Conference leader Kansas City for the Supporters' Shield.
The 9-18-4 Rapids come in to Saturday's game coming off a 1-1 tie against the Los Angeles Galaxy last Sunday. The Rapids sit in seventh place in the West with 31 points through 31 games as they make their end of the season push. The team currently ranks in the bottom third in goals scored and 14th in goals allowed.
The Rapids do have a four-game home undefeated streak heading in to Saturday's match. Don't be surprised to see Defender Hunter Freeman get the start once again for the Rapids after he chipped in his fifth assist of the season last week against LA.
Saturday's game at Dick Sporting Goods Field starts at 7 p.m. MT and can be seen on Altitude in the Denver area and CSN Bay Area in San Jose.
