The Salt River Rafters lost to the Scottsdale Scorpions 1-0 Friday night, struggling to create any offense. The Rafters managed only three hits throughout the game. Left fielder Corey Dickerson was the only Colorado Rockies farmhand to see action Friday.
Dickerson went 1-3 on the day. He grounded out to lead off the third, and then grounded into a double play in the fifth. Dickerson reached base in the eighth on a soft single, but was stranded on base. Dickerson is 2-17 in the Arizona Fall League, for a paltry .118 batting average. He has now appeared in five games for the Rafters.
Scottsdale scored in the bottom of the eighth, when San Francisco Giants prospect Gary Brown scored on a triple by fellow Giants prospect Joe Panik.
The Rafters remain half a game up on the Scorpions to lead the Fall League East. Salt City is 5-4 overall.
Salt River will host Scottsdale Saturday night. First pitch is slated for 6:35 MT.
