The Air Force Falcons picked up their first Mountain West Conference win of the season on Saturday, defeating Colorado St., 42-21. The win moved the Falcons into fifth place in the Mountain West Conference.
While beating the Rams isn't a huge accomplishment or a signature win, the Falcons avoided an 0-2 start in the Mountain West Conference with the win, improving to 1-1 in the MWC with the win. Air Force's conference loss came on Sept. 22, when the Falcons fell to the UNLV Rebels, 38-35.
The loss for Colorado St. dropped the Rams to 1-4 on the season, and 0-1 in the Mountain West. After upsetting Colorado in the season opener, the Rams have dropped four straight contests.
The Falcons won't have an opportunity to improve on their 1-1 MWC record this week, as Air Force plays host to Navy on Saturday morning. Conference play for the Falcons will resume on Oct. 13, when Air Force heads to Wyoming to take on the Cowboys.
Currently, four teams are tied for first place in the MWC with a 1-0 record, as Nevada, Boise St., Fresno St. and UNLV all notched wins in their only MWC game to date.
