2012 NFL Playoffs: Josh McDaniels Close To Joining New England Patriots

Sure, Josh McDaniels had a horrible season with the St. Louis Rams in his first season as the offensive coordinator there. But it will also likely be his last. McDaniels could be with the New England Patriots once again, as he is close to joining up again after a three year absence, according to the Boston Globe. On Saturday, ESPN's Adam Schefter also reported (on Sunday NFL Countdown) that McDaniels will join the Patriots for the postseason as an offensive assistant coach.

Coaches are not subject to any roster rules about need to wait to join. Just imagine, there's a possibility that the Denver Broncos could face its old coach, McDaniels, during the playoffs. But that's almost completely dependent on the Broncos, who are the underdogs of the 2012 NFL Playoffs.
