The Denver Nuggets have thoroughly out-classed the Sacramento Kings through the first half of their Wednesday night matchup at the Pepsi Center, leading the visitors 56-39 after two quarters. Denver has gotten it done with smothering defense and hot shooting.
Denver ends the half shooting 61 percent from the floor after knocking down 25 of their 41 field goal attempts. The ball movement has been stellar as well, as the Nuggets have 18 assists compared to just six for the Kings.
Playing without star center Nene, Timofey Mozgov has filled in nicely for the Nuggets. The big man is 4-for-6 from the field for nine points to lead all Denver starters. Al Harrington came off the bench to scored 10 points and grab five rebounds on 5-of-6 shooting. Arron Afflalo has seven points at the half.
Marcus Thornton leads all scorers with 14 points at the half. DeMarcus Cousins scored eight second quarter points for Sacramento, as well.
