The 2012-2013 college football recruiting class will include Luke Del Rio, the son of Denver Broncos new defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio. The entire family is moving to Denver and father and son are already looking at schools in the Denver area, the coach said during Monday's conference call with the press.
Del Rio transferred to Episcopal High School in Jacksonville, FL, for the 2011 season and threw for 2,530 yards and 20 touchdowns. He did throw 18 interceptions, but his coach believes that Del Rio was trying to force plays on many of those throws.
Rivals.com lists six schools as currently interested in Del Rio: Alabama, Duke, Florida State, North Carolina, Southern Miss and USC. The latter school was where his father played his college football. With National Signing Day for the 2012 class of recruits just two days away on Feb. 1, Del Rio's recruitment will certainly pick up soon enough.
