Colorado High School Football Recruiting 2012: Cyler Miles, Steve Donatell Lead Top Prospects Out Of The State

National Signing Day 2012 is nearly here (Feb. 1) and most of the top prospects from the state of Colorado have already pledged verbals to schools across the nation. Where are they going?

Colleges are going to get the next round of their newest athletes on Feb. 1 when National Signing Day takes place. The state of Colorado will see most of its top prospects leave the state for other locales. High atop the list is four-star quarterback Cyler Miles, who committed to the Washington Huskies last summer. Miles was quite impressive during the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Game, especially when he connected with top receiver Dorial Green-Beckham. Four-star offensive lineman Shane Callahan of Chaparral also played in that game and had to divert his trip from Auburn to San Antonio for the game. He is an early enrollee for the Tigers.

Windsor's Joey O'Connor decommitted from Penn State once the Jerry Sandusky scandal broke and then took until January to head to Urban Meyer's Ohio St. Buckeyes.

Highlands Ranch quarterback Steve Donatell, son of Ed Donatell, formerly a Denver Broncos coach and currently with the San Francisco 49ers, recently chose the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Alex Kozan, a four-star offensive lineman from Windsor, is still undecided and will likely choose from Auburn, Iowa and Michigan.

Here are the top prospects from the state of Colorado and where they are heading (ratings are from Rivals.com):
