Perfect Game USA's Kendall Rogers has come out with his preseason power rankings for college baseball's positions. Among the starting pitchers, Colorado native and LSU Tigers ace Kevin Gausman checks in as the No. 8 starting pitcher:
↵↵↵Gausman surprised many by even going to school last year. After a solid freshman campaign, the draft-eligible sophomore is ready.
↵
He's behind a very strong group of pitchers that includes Stanford's Mark Appel, possibly a candidate to be the No. 1 overall pick in July.
↵Also, making the list at No. 10 is 2011 Colorado Rockies draft pick Ross Stripling. Stripling, however, decided to return to college and he will be on a strong pitching pitching staff that includes No. 3 pitcher Michael Wacha.
