Winter X Games 2012: Shaun White Hurts Left Ankle During Practice

Snowboarder Shaun White injured his left ankle during a practice run on Thursday afternoon, reports the Denver Post's David Krause. The Post reports that the extent of his injury is not yet know, but that he was limping and had to talk with the medical staff before going to the medical tent.

The Winter X Games have already lost Lindsey Jacobellis to a torn ACL on Wednesday while snowmobilers Daniel Bodin and Levi LaVallee were injured before reaching Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, CO.

Men's Snowboard SuperPipe takes place on Sunday, Jan. 29, with the elimination round starting at 12:15 p.m. MT and then resuming at 7:45 p.m. MT for the medal round. Both events can be seen on ESPN, ESPN3 or ESPN 3D. Shaun White is looking to win his fifth straight gold medal at the Winter X Games.
