The 2012 Winter X Games at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, CO, kick off on Thursday with a strong slate of competitions, including three medal events. The competition begins early in the day with the elimination round of the Men's Ski Slopestyle at 10:30 am MT and the medal round will conclude the day's events during ESPN's broadcast. Sammy Carlson took home first place in Snowmobile Freestyle last year.
Also on the schedule for the medal events are Women's Ski Slopestyle and the Snowmobile Freestyle. The latter will be part of ESPN's broadcast that begins at 7:00 p.m. MT. It will also be shown on ESPN 3D and ESPN3.com. Kaya Turski is the defending gold medalist in Women's Ski Slopestyle while Snowmobile Freestyle winner Daniel Bodin is out. Silver medalist Justin Hoyer is in the comepetition.
All of Thursday's Winter X Games 16 events will be shown on ESPN3.com and ESPN 3D before the primetime showing of the two medal events.
