NCAA Basketball Rankings: Mid-Major Top 25 Poll Has Denver Pioneers At No. 25

The Denver Pioneers went 1-1 last week and dropped to No. 25 in the latest Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. That was a four-spot tumble by the Pioneers, who lost in overtime to the North Texas Mean Green in overtime, 75-74, on Saturday. Alzee Williams' tip-in at the buzzer gave the Mean Green the hard fought victory.

The Pioneers are now in a three-way tie for first place in the Sun Belt West, though the 15-5 record has them second best overall in the conference. The Pioneers will play Arkansas State and Arkansas-Little Rock this week.

The Murray State Racers remain atop the Mid-Major poll with a 20-0 record, which has them hovering around the top 10 in the AP and Coaches polls. Sun Belt leader Middle Tennessee State and its 19-2 record are currently at No. 5 in the poll. The Pioneers will play them on Feb. 4 in a nationally televised ESPN broadcast.
