Missy Franklin, 16-year-old swimmer and poised to be a breakout star at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, was honored by the Sportswomen of Colorado as one of its two swimmers of the year. Franklin, who won the award last year as well, is already a Hall of Famer there because 2010 was when she picked up her third award.
↵Also honored was former Colorado Buffaloes forward Brittany Spears as women's college player of the year in Colorado. She was a second round pick in the NBA Draft in 2011 but was later cut by the Phoenix Mercury.
