Russell Wilson went 4-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI for the Asheville Tourists last night. All right, he didn't do that because he is no longer playing baseball for the Colorado Rockies. What he did do last night, though, was just as impressive.
Wilson helped his Wisconsin Badgers dismantle the UNLV Rebels, 51-17. He was 10-of-13 for 255 yards and two touchdown passes. He also had two rush attempts for 62 yards. Oh, and one of them was a 42-yard run for a touchdown in the second quarter.
Wilson wasted no time getting back into the game and dominating from the very start. Yet, this was against UNLV, not exactly a powerhouse football team. The Rebels were 2-11 in 2010 and haven't had a winning season since 2000 when they went 8-5.
Let's see what Wilson does against tougher competition. Can he do this against No. 10 Nebraska on Oct. 1? He'll also have a tough back-to-back test on Oct. 22 and 29 with games against Michigan State and Ohio State on the road.
