With the Air Force Falcons being defeated 35-19 by the TCU Horned Frogs, it was clear the Falcons would not be receiving any votes in the USA Today Coaches poll. The Falcons will have some work to do to get back in the top-25 picture. The Falcons may not get consideration in the poll until they face Notre Dame in October. The Falcons' upcoming games are Tennessee State, at Navy and then at Notre Dame. A 4-1 record should at least get them consideration in the poll with wins over quality teams like Navy and Notre Dame.

TCU moved up a mere two spots after their dominating win over Air Force from No. 25 to No. 23. The Boise St. Broncos, who were on a bye week, moved passed the Florida St. Seminoles who defeated Charleston Southern 62-10, but the difference is a mere three votes.

Another Air Force opponent getting consideration are the San Diego St. Aztecs, who held on to defeat the Army, 23-20. They received three votes. This is the first time all season that San Diego State has received votes in the Coaches poll.
