Adam Weber Battles For Roster Spot, But Practice Squad More Likely

While most of the attention this training camps is (rightly) on Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow, the Denver Broncos do have a rookie quarterback who is looking to make the team. Adam Weber signed as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota. His college teammate was current Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker, who is set up to be the No. 3 wide receiver on the team this season.

But Weber? He's the fourth quarterback right now and it doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon. As Weber told the Denver Post recently:

"I'm a long ways off from stepping foot on a field," he said.

As Weber states earlier in the article, teams don't carry four quarterbacks. At this point, Weber is more than likely heading to the team's practice squad, where he can develop and develop his skills to compete for a roster spot in 2012. Orton and Brady Quinn are free agents next season, leaving Tebow as the only quarterback under contract entering the 2012 season.
