Adam Weber Better Than Tim Tebow Right Now, Some In Broncos' Organization Believe

The Denver Broncos quarterback controversy has taken another turn in a strange direction. It hasn't been Kyle Orton or Tim Tebow for a few weeks already. Brady Quinn or Tim Tebow as Orton's backup? That was so last weekend. The new one? Tim Tebow or Adam Weber for third-string quarterback.

In Michael Silver's article for Yahoo! Sports, undrafted rookie free agent Adam Weber is making a move on being better than Tim Tebow. According to Silver, there are some people in the organization who believe Weber should be the third-string quarterback over Tebow:

As one highly knowledgeable member of the organization told me Monday, "If everything was totally equal, and this were a competition based only on performance at this camp, Tebow would probably be the fourth-string guy. [...] And I’m telling you, Adam Weber is flat-out better right now."

But things aren't equal, as Silver points out. Tebow is a former first-round pick, meaning the team has plenty of money committed in him. It would be gross negligence if Tebow wasn't at the very least the third-string quarterback come the Sept. 12 season opener against the Oakland Raiders.

If Weber is that highly regarded by some in the organization, one must wonder when he'll actually see playing time in the preseason. Will we wait until the final game?
