Rockies Vs. Reds: Colorado Looks For 3rd Victory Over Cincinnati

The Colorado Rockies had a chance at picking up the series victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday evening, but they let it slip through their fingers. Kevin Millwood allowed all three of the Reds' runs in the 3-2 loss, but the Rockies offense put up just two runs on 13 hits. They'll look to do it against the Reds on Thursday afternoon.

Jhoulys Chacin (9-8, 3.45 ERA) wasn't his sharpest in his last outing, walking five batters in five innings. He allowed three runs in the 15-7 victory. He had fired off a one-run outing against the Phillies to start August. He threw a relief appearance in Cincinnati during 2010 for 2-2/3 innings, allowing one and striking out four.

Johnny Cueto (7-5, 2.06 ERA) has had a string of interesting starts of late. On July 31, Cueto threw a three-hit complete game shutout against the Giants, striking out six. But in his last start, he lasted just 3-2/3 innings after allowing five runs. Go back to his July 26 start and his line shows that he allowed six runs, but none earned. The Reds had three errors in a game against the Mets.

First pitch is scheduled for 10:35 a.m. MT.
