Terrelle Pryor Leaves Ohio State As Investigation Heats Up

In case anyone thought that Ohio St. Buckeyes quarterback Terrelle Pryor was going to have his five-game suspension to start the 2011 reduced and be available for their Sept. 24 game with the Colorado Buffaloes, think again. Pryor has decided to leave school before the start of his senior year.

Pryor's troubles started in December when it came to light that he traded memorabilia for tattoos and now he's the center of an investigation on a Columbus car ring. The memorabilia-for-tattoos scandal netted him a five-game suspension and led to head coach Jim Tressel receiving a two-game suspension, which he then asked to be moved to five games. But then on Memorial Day, Tressel resigned as the Buckeyes' coach. Even with Pryor and Tressel gone, expect the NCAA to continue its investigation and eventually impose stiff penalties.

As for Pryor's future, there is the supplemental NFL draft for him to enter--if the league can actually hold one. We'll see.
