2011 College World Series Schedule: Florida-Vanderbilt, South Carolina-Virginia Begin Final Four

The 2011 College World Series enters the final stages of the tournament on Friday when the Final Four begins. Both Vanderbilt and Virginia will need to win on Friday and then win on Saturday if they want to face each other in the championship series. What we do know for certain is that at least one team in the final series will be from the SEC. Vanderbilt takes on Florida in the first game of the day.

For the Gators, things are simple: win and be in the championship series. This will be the Gators' sixth meeting with the Commodores this season. After taking the season series, 2-1, Florida won the SEC Tournament championship against Vanderbilt and then beat them in the CWS on Monday night and Tuesday morning (weather delayed the game until the next day) 3-1. The Rockies' 16th round draft pick, Preston Tucker, hit the three-run home run in the game against Vandy.

South Carolina beat Virginia on Tuesday night, 2-0. This time, though, the Gamecocks will need to face Virginia LHP Danny Hultzen. Just a few weeks ago, Hultzen was the No. 2 overall pick by the Seattle Mariners. Will this be his last college game?
