2011 College World Series Schedule, TV Times

Day 3 of the 2011 College World Series picks up on Monday afternoon with a return to Bracket 1. To recap the first day of Bracket 1, Vanderbilt defeated North Carolina, 7-3, and Florida defeated Texas, 8-4. In the former game, Vandy put five runs on the board against Tar Heels starter and Rockies draftee Patrick Johnson. In the latter game, Florida 1B and Rockies draft pick Preston Tucker had an RBI double and scored a run.

On Monday, North Carolina and Texas play to extend their season, as the loser picks up their second and final loss of the tournament. At night, the Commodores and the Gators vie for advancement in the winners' bracket.

Bracket 1's future opponent in the championship series is likely to come from either Virginia, which defeated Cal, or South Carolina, which put an 'L' on the board for Texas A&M. The Aggies started Ross Stripling who allowed four runs in the first, but then kept the Gamecocks quiet through the eighth inning. South Carolina won with a walk-off single off of a reliever by Scott Wingo.
