Quite a few Colorado residents tuned in to watch the Boston Bruins claim their first Stanley Cup championship in 39 years. The results are in, and the Denver-metro market turned in a 14% market share for Game Seven. This places Denver fourth amongst all US markets, behind only Boston (64%), Providence (38%), and Buffalo (17%).
↵Despite lackluster attendance in recent years and criticism that Denver is not a "hockey town", the television ratings for Colorado Avalanche games have remained high. The consistently high playoff hockey numbers this season -- despite the Avalanche missing the playoffs entirely -- are another positive sign that hockey has become a well-established sport in the state of Colorado.
↵Now all we need is a winner.
