2011 NCAA Baseball Tournament 2011: TCU Opens With Oral Roberts In Forth Worth Regional

On June 3, the 2011 NCAA Baseball Tournament kicks off around the country and in the Fort Worth, Tx., regional the TCU Horned Frogs, host team, will play the No. 4 Oral Roberts Golden Eagles in the second game of the day, Unlike some regionals, this one has all of the teams in the same general vicinity (unlike Georgia heading to Corvallis, Ore.).

The No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners start the day against the No. 3 Dallas Baptist Patriots at 1:00 p.m. MT, while TCU and Oral Roberts pick things back up at 6:00 p.m. MT. But this isn't a single-elimination round where the winners of the first two games will play to advance to the Super Regionals. The regionals round requires double-elimination, which means this round could extend all the way to June 6.

According to RPI, TCU had the 28th best ranking entering the tournament, but just the 86th toughest schedule. However, Oral Roberts comes in at Nos. 95 and Nos. 194, respectively. Oklahoma checked in with the No. 17 RPI and the 47th toughest schedule in the country. Dallas Baptist reached No. 54 in RPI, but its schedule came in at No. 160.
