Three games, one ultimate victor. The 2011 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament comes to an end on Memorial Day, but there's plenty of action in store over this holiday weekend. So while the Indianapolis 500 takes place on Sunday, ease into the sports weekend by watching college lacrosse on Saturday and then unwind from the Sunday race with the national championship game on Monday afternoon.
The semifinals begin on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. MT with the No.6 Denver Pioneers facing the No. 7 Virginia Cavaliers. Both teams upset high-seeded opponents, No. 3 Johns Hopkins and No. 2 Cornell, respectively. Shortly after, the No. 5 Duke Blue Devils play the unseeded Maryland Terrapins.
All games will be played at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD. Can the Denver Pioneers break up the East Coast dominance and bring a championship out west? The journey continues Saturday afternoon.
