The Vancouver Canucks will learn their 2011 Stanley Cup Finals opponent on Friday night when the Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning drop the puck in Game 7. The Lightning forced Game 7 with a 5-4 victory on Wednesday night.
The Canucks have lost their previous two Finals appearances, both against New York teams. The 1982 Islanders swept the Canucks, and the New York Rangers ended their decades-long drought for Lord Stanley's Cup with a 4-3 series victory in 1994.
The Lightning won the Stanley Cup in 2004, while the Bruins last took it all home in 1972 and appeared in the Finals in 1990, losing to the Edmonton Oilers.
