2011 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament: Quarterfinals Start With Cornell-Virginia

The Denver Pioneers will play the second game on Saturday's schedule for the 2011 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Quarterfinals. After defeating the Villanova Wildcats last Sunday, the No. 6 Pioneers earned the right to play No. 3 Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays have won nine NCAA championships, while the Pioneers will look for their second school victory in the tournament.

But there will be three other games this weekend, probably none will be as exciting as Saturday's early matchup between No. 2 Cornell and No. 7 Virginia. According to College Crosse's Fun Factor calculations, this game should  be the best one to watch, given the offensive predilections of the two teams. The Pioneers and the Blue Jays have the No. 2 game in these rankings.

The winners of these Saturday games will face each other on Saturday, May 28, in Baltimore, MD for a chance at the championship game on May 30.

Here is the full slate of action for this weekend:

Saturday, May 21
No. 2 Cornell vs. No. 7 Virginia, 10 a.m. MT, ESPN2
No. 3 Johns Hopkins vs. No. 6 Denver, 12:30 p.m. MT, ESPN2
