2011 NHL Playoffs: Thomas Pitches A Shut Out, Bergeron Returns As The Bruins Win, 2-0

Eastern Conference

Boston Bruins 2, Tampa Bay Lightning 0 -- Tim Thomas rebounded from two poor performances to pitch a shut out last evening in Boston and give the Bruins a 2-0 victory and a 2-1 series lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Patrice Bergeron made his series debut, returning from his concussion that kept him out of the first two games, and played as if he hadn't missed a shift.

Boston received goals from David Krejci and Andrew Ference in the 1st and 3rd periods and controlled the neutral zone for most of the game. The Lightning's season basically comes down to Saturday's game in Tampa Bay, as a second loss at home would most likely spell the end for the upstart team.

Bruins lead the series, 2-1

Next Scheduled Game

Vancouver Canucks at San Jose Sharks , 7:00 p.m. MST, on Versus and CBC -- The series shifts to San Jose with the Sharks and Canucks playing nearly even outside of one breakout 3rd period for Vancouver. While San Jose owns one of the best home ice advantages in the league, they haven't been able to live up to it deep into the playoffs the last few seasons. The Tank will be rocking tonight.

Vancouver leads the series, 2-0
