2011 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Day 1 Schedule

The 2011 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament gets underway on Saturday, May 14 with four matchups. While the Denver Pioneers will need to wait until Sunday to determine their future in the tournament, they will learn who they will face in the second round if they advance. No. 3 Johns Hopkins takes on Hofstra Saturday afternoon.

Here is a complete schedule for Saturday's games;

No. 2 Cornell vs. Hartford, 5:30 p.m. MT, ESPNU
No. 3 Johns Hopkins vs. Hofstra, 10 a.m. MT, ESPN2/ESPN3.com
No. 4 Notre Dame vs. Penn, 12:30 p.m. MT, ESPNU
No. 5 Duke vs. Delaware, 3 p.m. MT, ESPNU

College Crosse has rated each game according to a Fun Factor to help choose which games will be the best ones to watch. Only Hofstra-Hopkins makes the top four games (at No. 3) and here's what CC had to say:

In my gut Hofstra-Hopkins is the second-best game on the bill this weekend, but I am very interested to see what the Bison can do down in Charlottesville.

So if there's a day to catch college lacrosse, Sunday is the better day to do it, but Saturday's first game of the day could help set the stage for what is to come.
